The 1st Generation Cayenne Turbo with 450 hp (340 kW) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (97 km / h) in 5.3 seconds. A turbo-S version was built in 2006 to compete with the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. The Cayenne Turbo S includes a short range case, a limited slip differential and adjustable, off-road suspension tuning, which is also on the standard Turbo model. It was powered and produced by a 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 500 hp (370 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-60 mph (96 kph) was 5.0 seconds and top speed of 171 miles per hour. It featured a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.
The next generation of the Porsche Cayenne is expected to be likely to go on sale in May 2010 as the Model 2011, a debut at either the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show 2010 or the Motor Show in Geneva. First spy photos of the car have been published on the Internet on the 5th June 2008. More spy photos, on 2 June 2009 and incorporated in July and August 2009 show a shorter, smaller Cayenne with more muscular curves, a sloping rear window, door-mounted mirrors, headlights inspired by the Carrera GT, tail lights, the car to the extension tailgate, LED daytime running lights and a significantly redesigned interior modeled after the upcoming Panamera. The new Cayenne is expected that nearly 200 kilograms lighter than the current model due to extensive use of aluminum, making it more fuel efficient than the current lineup. Due to the lower rate, however, is the vehicle off-road capabilities will be significantly reduced for a performance-oriented layout and design. Diesel and hybrid versions will also be offered.

The new Cayenne models, entirely new Porsche Porsche double-clutch transmission (PDK) seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox gearbox instead of the currently used six-speed Tiptronic S.
